About

History

Supporting the many talented, creative individuals in north Georgia and  western North Carolina, the Mountain Regional Arts and Crafts Guild, Inc. was founded in 1990 by Jamie Evans and a small group of artists and artisans. The Guild, a non-profit 501c-3 organization has since grown to more than fifty members. Our mission is to encourage and promote accomplishments in the arts and crafts by offering opportunities to partake of (or engage in) monthly meetings, classes, shows, exhibitions, outreach programs and fund raising events.

In the fall of 2006, the MRACG opened ArtWorks Gallery and Gifts. The  Gallery, staffed by volunteer Guild members, is a venue for mountain artisan members to sell their diverse mix of fine art and local crafts.

A wide variety of fund raising events and income from grants,  contributions, and dues allow the Guild to support community outreach programs, classes for both children and seniors, scholarships and ArtWorks Gallery and Gifts.

Mission

To bring regional makers of handmade crafts and original art together to collaboratively showcase and sell their work by sharing creative ideas and skills through networking and outreach programs.

Vision

To be a Regional “Arts Destination to Create, Relate and Connect” for all who live or visit our mountain and lake area.
